Gilbert and Fanny's land in Greene County was located on John
Chatterdon Road near Acra, Greene County NY. Their house has since burned
down. Gilbert and his family relocated to Orange County NY in approx 1855

The
2nd and 3rd homes of Gilbert & Fanny both were located on Rte 94 in
Vails Gate Orange County NY. Their first home had also been
on Rte 94 near the east line of the Village of Washingtonville on the
south side of the State road. It was no longer in existence at the
time of EPM's research, and the property was known as the Matyka
farm and grove in 1940. Gilbert died at their
3rd home (bottom picture) The photo of this home, was taken by EPM March 1937. It was located on
Rte 94 two houses in from "5 corners", alongside the
Edmonston house where their son Seneca once lived. (It
is no longer standing) |
